Military life doesn't necessarily get easier, but you do learn to use more tools, strategies and support to help you along the way. PCS moves are definitely a lot more manageable when you can phone a friend who lives at your new duty station. Budgeting and money management becomes simpler when you hear from community members who enjoyed positive experiences with certain financial institutions. And learning what not to do at the military base gate can save us the embarrassment of accidentally flinging a credit card towards a gate guard (oops!). Around here, we like transparency.
